---- — Robert Eugene “Bob” Hine, 99, of Lebanon, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013. Born Sept. 22, 1914, in Boone County, he was the only son of the now late Olas and Eula (Witt) Hine. A lifelong resident of Lebanon, Bob graduated from Lebanon High School in 1932, and was the last living graduate of his class. Following school, he served in the Indiana National Guard. In June 1936, he married Margaret Elizabeth Frakes. Margaret passed away on Aug. 17, 2010. Bob and his wife owned several neighborhood grocery stores. When the national chain stores came to Lebanon, the smaller neighborhood stores like Bob's were forced out of business. He then owned several apartment buildings and built 25 homes in Lebanon. In 1965, he and Margaret built and operated Oak Park Manor Nursing Home for 10 years, until their retirement. During retirement, Bob built his last house at the age of 80. Bob’s passion in life was his church work, and in later years, prophecy. He worked earnestly to create new ways of presenting the gospel. He was also connected to the Clyde Dupin Ministries, which held crusades in the United States and Haiti. Bob and Margaret traveled on many of those crusades as support staff. He and his wife traveled throughout the world, visiting 36 countries including Africa, the Holy Lands and Haiti. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed making and sharing his caramel corn with everyone. He was an entrepreneur, a biblical scholar, and a devoted supporter of mission work. Survivors include three daughters, Marjorie Hine of Lebanon; Barbara L. Koffel of Minneapolis, Minn., and Carol James of Indianapolis; sister, Martha (James) Hertel of Greenwood; brother-in-law, Max (Vernita) Hamilton of Greenville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Philip Koffel and Elizabeth Koffel, both of Minneapolis, and Mathew James, Sarah James and Zachary James, all of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and wife; and two sisters, Barbara Hamilton and Juanita Burcham. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 11, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. J. Wesley Hertel and the Rev. Billy Watts officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
