Gary W. Moore

Gary W. Moore, 82, of Zionsville, died Oct. 16, 2013. Mr. Moore was born Dec. 12, 1930, in Boone County, to Paul W. and Charlotte Opal Miller Moore. His parents preceded him in death; as did his brother, John Moore; his sister, Anna J. Roesinger; and his great-grandson, Sean William Culley. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army. He was a math and science teacher for 36 years. He taught for two years in Wabash school district before enjoying a 34-year career at Zionsville Community High School, retiring in 1990. Mr. Moore was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association, former member of the Zionsville Jaycees, and was active in Cub Scout Pack/Boy Scout Troop No. 358 in Zionsville. Survivors include his wife, Beverly June Harmon Moore; his sons, Walter H. (Lora) Moore of Lebanon, Joseph P. Moore of Indianapolis and Daniel D. (Becky) Moore of Grovetown, Ga. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Jeremy Moore, Keith Moore, Kimberly Moore and Leia Moore; and his great-grandchildren, Lilly Jane Culley and Amber Lynn Moore. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 18, at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center — Zionsville, 105 W. Pine St., Zionsville. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the funeral center, with burial to follow at Salem Cemetery in Zionsville.
