Marilyn J. Wiley

Mrs. Marilyn Jean Wiley, 82, of Carmel, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel. Marilyn was born Sept. 1, 1931, in Boone County, the daughter of the now late Floyd Richard and Marguerite (Padgett) Wills. She was raised and educated in Kirklin, and graduated from Kirklin High School. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Kane Harding. On Jan. 8, 1994, she was married to Hugh Wiley in Lebanon. Mr. Wiley survives. During the early 1950s, Marilyn and her family moved to Lebanon. She worked for Sargent Paint & Decorating Center in Lebanon for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, making crafts and arranging flowers. Marilyn was a member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon. Survivors include her husband, Hugh Wiley of Carmel; three children, Scott T. (Karen) Harding of Noblesville, and Sara J. Harpham and Steve Harding, both of Lebanon; seven stepchildren, Pamela J. Gonder, Lizabeth A. Bowman, Phillip H. Wiley, Jacqueline S. Inman, Melinda K. Wilson, Frederick W. Wiley and Edmund R. Wiley; two brothers, Bob (Sharlene) Wills of Colfax and Norman Wills of Arizona; four grandchildren, Steven Harding, Kathryn Harding, Leah Harding and Lauren Harding; and several stepgrandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband; a brother, James Wills; a daughter, Susan Harding; a son-in-law, Dale L. Harpham; and a stepson, David S. Wiley. Visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov, 13, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. David Grieger officiating. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirklin the following day. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Indiana Chapter, 50 E. 91st St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
