---- — Martha "Jean" (Shelton) Worick, 95, of Danville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at the Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center in Danville. Jean, as she was called by her friends and family, was born to Marvin Caldwell and Rose Pointer on Dec. 27, 1917. She attended Central Normal College and Ball State Teachers College, and later taught school in Hendricks County, was a buyer for the Wm. H. Block Company, and sold school books. In her spare time, with her son, John, she owned several night clubs. Jean was a very talented and artistic person, quite the gifted gardener, and any home in which she lived exhibited her talents. She enjoyed traveling to Florida with her son and spending winters in Suwannee, Fla., enjoying her many friends both in Indiana and Florida. Jean is survived by a daughter, Sally; and was preceded in death by her son, John C. Shelton, on Oct. 1, 2012. There will be no formal funeral service but, at a later date, Jean’s friends will gather for a celebration of her life. She will be deeply missed by her many friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Sycamore Center in Danville; the Hendricks County Senior Services in Danville; or the Hendricks County Community Foundation.
