Mr. Roy Lewis Cotton, 58, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
Roy was born Oct. 31, 1955, in Warsaw, to the now late James R. and Virginia M. (Moore) Cotton. In 1957, he and his family moved to Wadsworth, Ohio. In 1970 they moved to Lebanon, where he had since resided. He was a 1975 graduate of Lebanon High School. Following school, he enlisted in the United State Navy and served his country honorably.
On Feb. 23, 1980, he was married to Janice A. Bowman in Lebanon. She survives.
Roy had a passion for woodworking; his employment included master carpentry and construction. He was the owner of Cotton Construction and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all of his clients.
He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Janice A. Cotton of Lebanon; daughter, Tasha (John) Dulin of Kirklin; son, Joshua Cotton of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Braxton Starkey and Kasey Dulin, both of Kirklin, and Kesi Cotton and Ethaniel Cotton, both of Lebanon; sister, Julie (Rob) Noland of Lebanon; brother, Andrew (Nancy) Cotton of Palestine, Texas; and eight nieces and several cousins.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Cotton.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 20, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Richard Burdett and Jim Kyle officiating. Interment will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
