James W. Bridges

James William Bridges, 72, of Avon, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014.Jim was born May 14, 1942 in New York, NY to William L. Bridges, Jr. and Marian (Beckers) Bridges. He graduated from North Central High School in 1960 and attended Purdue University to study engineering. He worked as a project coordinator for Beam, Longest & Neff, LLC in Indianapolis for 36 years, retiring in 2004. Jim also worked for many years as a land surveyor. Outside of work, he enjoyed building military dioramas and World War II scale models. He was an avid gardener, stamp collector and spent time traveling to Brown County and other parts of the country.Jim is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Vicki (Nay) Bridges; daughters, Kimberly (Joseph) Gray and Jennifer (John) Sinnett; son, Brian Carr; and grandchildren, Benjamin (14), Mitchell (13), and Olivia (12). He is also survived by his sister, Jane (Dick) Sowers.Jim was preceded in death by his parents.Memorial contributions may be given to Wheeler Mission.Online condolences may be made at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
