Kenneth E. Robinson

Mr. Kenneth Eldon Robinson, 73, of Lebanon, Friday, June 20, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Mr. Robinson was born in Indianapolis, on Dec. 18, 1940, the son of the now late Robert Eldon and Thelma Jewel (Abbott) Robinson.Raised in Boone County, he attended Whitestown schools. Following school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged January 1958.In June 1959, he was married to Johnnie Mae Necessary in Indianapolis. They later divorced.Mr. Robinson worked at the Blue & White Service Station in Indianapolis. In 1963, he was employed by Richardson Rubber Company out of Industry, Calif., which made battery containers. He was then transferred back to Indianapolis and the company was sold to Witco Corp., which later became known as Connor Corp. until it closed in June 1999. He then retired at that time. During his retirement he worked part time in security for Pamida in Lebanon.He thoroughly enjoyed his family and thought the world of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Survivors include five children, Trina J. (Steve) Johnson of Zionsville, Kenneth E. Robinson Jr., Debra L. Robinson of Indianapolis, Dana L. Robinson of Lebanon and Donald E. (Deena) Robinson of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Tommy (Debbie) Whitley of Mooresville, Billy (Angie) Whitley of Indianapolis, David (Jill) Robinson of Carmel, Robert Earl (Kathy) Robinson of Jasonville and Stanley Robinson of Sheridan; four sisters, Shirley (John) Price of Arizona, Linda Whitley of Mooresville, and Brenda (Doug) Hardings and Verna (Allen) Scott, all of Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Sandy Whitley of Mooresville; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold Whitley; and three sisters, Patti Acton, Gail Birchfield and Susie Whitley.Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County.Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, is handling the arrangements.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 6100 W. 96th St., Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46278-6005.Online condolences may be made at www.myersmortuary.com.
