Betty Lou Bowman

Mrs. Betty Lou Bowman, 89, of Darlington, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.Mrs. Bowman was born March 23, 1925, in Indianapolis, to Russell and Mildred (Harder) Horn. She was a 1943 graduate of Dover High School.She married Harold Bowman on Sept. 8, 1946, and he preceded her in death in 1992. Mrs. Bowman was homemaker, and she was a member of Shannondale Bethel Presbyterian Church and a Ladies Aid member.Survivors include her children, Bud (Deb) Bowman, John (Rhonda) Bowman, Raymond (Roberta) Bowman, Carolyn (Jim) Perry and Connie (Alvin) O’Neal. In addition, nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren survive.She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Barbara Jane Irvin; and two great-grandsons.Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, July 8, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Avenue, Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, at the funeral home, with Pastor Mike Whitacre officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shannondale Presbyterian Church or the Animal Welfare League.Online condolences may be left at www.huntandson.com.
