Helen L. Coffman

Mrs. Helen Louise Coffman, 95, of the Dover/Thorntown area, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, where she had resided since 2010.Helen was born March 10, 1919, in Boone County, a daughter of the now late Lawrence and Ruth (Whitson) Kelly. She married Charles R. Coffman in 1939. He passed away in 1998.Helen was a seamstress at the Thorntown Textile many years ago.Survivors include her children, Charles (Karen) Coffman of Ladoga, Ron (June) Coffman of Springboro, Ohio, Marilyn (Dave) Chase of Carmel, Ed (Wanda) Coffman of Lebanon, Tenn., and Greg (Alyson) Coffman of Lebanon, Ohio; siblings, Marvin (La Donna) Kelly of Greencastle, Wilma Reed of Ladoga and Esther Ross of Crawfordsville; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and one sister.Family and friends will gather Thursday, July 10, for visitation from 4 until 7 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, and Friday, July 11, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. at Pleasant View Church, 5295 W. Ind. 32, Lebanon. Helen will be laid to rest at Pleasant View Cemetery in Lebanon.Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Pleasant View Church, 5295 W.
