Betty E. Caldwell 1927-2013

Betty Ellen Caldwell, 85, of Lebanon, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013, at Hickory Creek at Lebanon.

Betty was born Sept. 26, 1927, in Detroit, Mich., a daughter of the now late Noble and Mable Claire (Warren) Caldwell. Reared and educated in Lebanon, she graduated from Lebanon High School.

For 31 years, she worked for Stokely Van Camp in Indianapolis as an inventory control secretary. She then went to work as a secretary in Lebanon for the Boone County Cancer Society, until her retirement in 1984.

Betty was a devoted aunt and friend to many. She enjoyed crafts, photography and traveling.

She was a member of Central Christian Church in Lebanon, past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 23, Lebanon, and past royal matron of Anson Mills Court 12 Order of Amaranth, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Survivors include nieces, Judy Hampton of Lebanon and Wilma J. (Larry) Mott of Crawfordsville; nephew, Richard (Terri) Kendall of Lebanon; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Otis Norman Caldwell and Noble Caldwell Jr.; and two sisters, Mary Jane Kendall and Norma Jean Caldwell.

Visitation is 5 to 6:30 p.m. today, July 16, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, with Eastern Star rites beginning at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Jim Kyle officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Lebanon.
