Ms. Patricia M. Anderson, 83, of Lebanon, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation at Parkwood in Lebanon.
Patricia was born Feb. 1, 1930, in Lebanon, a daughter of the now late Guy F. and Dorothy Marie (Hoover) Anderson. She was a 1948 graduate of Lebanon High School and a member of the Senior Honor Society.
From 1950 to 1954, she worked as the office manager for Allied Builders. In 1954, she opened Lebanon Credit Bureau/Boone County Credit Bureau. Because of her illness, the autoimmune disease Myasthenia Gravis, she worked from her bed in her home. She was in business for 34 years. Patricia was the first woman real estate broker in Boone County, and the only woman board member of the Boone County Board of Realtors for 10 years.
In 1988 Patricia retired from working, as she was going blind. At that time, she began painting oil paintings, gardening and enjoyed walking with her guide dog, Ulanie.
She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church of Lebanon; member and past president of Beta Mu Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha; and charter member of Zonta International Club of Lebanon, and charter secretary and later vice president of the Lebanon Chapter.
Survivors include her brother, Guy Franklin Anderson of Texas; brother-in-law, Eugene Ryan, Lebanon; longtime friend and Boone County Senior Services friendly visitor, Ingrid Temple; and three nieces and two nephews.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jo Ryan.
Visitation is 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Jim Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
