Shirley M. “Mae Mae” Breedlove

— Lebanon


Mrs. Shirley Mae “Mae Mae” Breedlove, 75, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at her residence.

 Mrs. Breedlove was born in Dover, on Sept. 28, 1937. She was the daughter of the now late Ernest Virrel and Dorothy Adeline (Layton) McDaniel. A lifelong resident of Boone County, she graduated from Dover High School in 1955.

On June 17, 1955, she married Earnest Leon Breedlove at the Pleasant View Church in Lebanon. After 57 years of marriage, Mr. Breedlove survives.

Mrs. Breedlove was the co-owner, along with her husband, of S & L Crafts in Lebanon for 30 years.

She devoted her life to her family, her home and her community. Having had such a big heart, she helped raise several youth within the community throughout the years. She had a passion for making crafts, being especially fond of crocheting and painting. An avid bowler, she spent many years on a bowling league.

Mrs. Breedlove was a member of Pleasant View Church, Lebanon.

Survivors include her husband, Leon Breedlove of Lebanon; daughter, Mary Jane (Doug) Deffenbaugh of Lebanon; two sisters, Phyllis Cooper of Indianapolis and Carolyn (Dale) Wilson of Crawfordsville; one brother, Gary (Judy) McDaniel  of Advance; five grandchildren, Meghan Jane (fiancé, Justin Twitty) Deffenbaugh of Lebanon, Samantha (Brandon) Jamison of Thorntown, and Neesa Nicole Deffenbaugh, Braxton Douglas Deffenbaugh and Cody Douglas Deffenbaugh, all of Lebanon; and one great-grandchild, Dyllan Lee Douglas Earnest Twitty.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Wilson and Marilyn Copeland; and two brothers-in-law, Denny Wilson and Dick Copeland.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today, March 29, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Myers Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Boone County.
