Donald D Hannis, 90, of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Parkwood Health Care, Lebanon.
Donald was born Sept. 3, 1923, in Westfield, Ill., son of the now late Dyer and Mildred Ross.
He married Imagene Coy on Oct. 4, 1975, in Frankfort; she survives.
Donald served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Detroit Diesel Allison in 1981. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and hunting mushrooms. He loved nature and was a member of the Boone County Bluebird Society. He was also a member of the Jamestown American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Imagene Hannis; sons, Tom (Sarlota) Hannis of the Netherlands, Jim (Deanna) Hannis of Woodstock, Ill., and John Hannis and Rock (Tonia) Hannis, all of Jamestown; stepsons, James Coy and Ron Coy, both of Lebanon; half-sister, Kathleen (Richard) Wellman; and 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by stepson, Donnie Coy.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. Friday, May 9, at the Porter Funeral Home, 315 W. Main St., Jamestown. Services will follow at 2 p.m. Donald will be laid to rest in the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
