Jerry Leonard Simpkins

— Jerry Leonard Simpkins, 48, of Whitestown, died Saturday, January 7.  Jerry was born October 20, 1963 in Waco, Texas. He was reared and educated in Zionsville and Whitestown. 

He spent most of his life as an over the road truck driver; a profession that he truly loved.  He is survived by his partner Laura Davis of Whitestown; mother, Marily Blair of Whitestown; father, Dewey Simpkins of Salyersville, Kentucky; daughters Desiree Eaton of Tipton, Geri Simpkins of Greencastle, Chelsee (Ian) Ehrhardt of Plainfield and Paige Simpkins of Greencastle; step-daughter Heather (Terry) Broadstreet of Brazil, Indiana; step-son, Bradley Phifer of Indianapolis; sisters Patricia Simpkins of Whitestown, Paula (Scott) Ferguson of Pandora, Ohio, Brenda (George) Hornyak of Arlington, Texas; brothers Curtis Simpkins of Lebanon, Jon Simpkins of Elwood, Terry Simpkins of Milford, Indiana, Danny Simpkins of Delaware, Ohio, Bud Foor of Toledo, Ohio; four grandchildren, Cameron Eaton, Natalie Penn, Kyler and Karter Query and his four-legged buddy, Albert.  He was preceded in death by his step-father, Clayton Blair; brother, James Simpkins and chemo buddy, Kimberly Morris. 

The family wishes to thank the folks at the Boone County Cancer Society and the staff at the Cancer Institute in Lebanon for all of their support.  Family and friends will gather on Saturday, January 14 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of his memorial service at 6:00 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
