Betty Jean Brown, 71, of Jamestown, formerly of Hartford City, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville.
Betty was born June 3, 1941, in Hartford City, and was the daughter of the now late Andrew Jr. and Doris (Knight) Flatter.
She had been employed by Corning Glass of Bluffton, Premix of Hartford City, and retired from Bluffton Rubber in Hartford City. After retirement she worked at Crystal Flash in Whitestown. She was a loving and caring person.
Betty is survived by her husband of 34 years, Martin W. Brown of Jamestown; two daughters, Laura (Rick) Edwards of Jamestown, and Cynthia (Chuck) Ross of Hartford City; three grandchildren, Terry Goodpaster of Burlington, Iowa, and Andy and Travis Ross, both of Hartford City; two great-grandchildren, Gideon and Felicity Goodpaster, both of Burlington; a sister, Linda (Ted) Tarr of Hartford City; a brother, Gary (Linda) Flatter of Hartford City; several nieces and nephews; and a very special companion, Daisy Mae.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Flatter.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. Ind. 3, Muncie. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, at the funeral home, with Pastor Dennis Trimble officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Heart Association of either Blackford County or Hendricks County, with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
