Lawrence C. Farr

Thorntown

1953-2013

Mr. Lawrence Charles Farr, 59, of Thorntown, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Farr was born Dec. 21, 1953, in Indianapolis, the son of the now late Charles Robert and Virginia Rosemary (Pratt) Farr. He attended Avon High School. Following school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp., and served his country honorably from 1972 to 1974.

In 1995 he moved to Thorntown, where he worked for Palmor Products as a sander for 10 years. He enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Survivors include companion, Barbara Smith of Thorntown; two children, Teresa (Derek) Ricker of Frankton and Charles Anthony (Jean) Smith of Lebanon; three sisters, Susan E. (Pete) Wilson of Mooresville, Cindy A. (Bob “Butch”) Bell of Anderson and Sandra K. Farr of San Diego, Calif.; brother-in-law, Jim Martin of Speedway; three grandchildren, Justine (James) Young of Ladoga, Levi Ricker of Frankton and Casey Jo Smith of Monticello; three great-grandchildren,  Brayden Jones, Zachary Edwards and McKenzie Young; and several nieces and nephews.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jennifer R. Martin.

Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, is handling arrangements for cremation.
