Mary Mavoureen Jolly

 

Mrs. Mary Mavoureen Jolly, 85, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation at Parkwood, Lebanon.

Mrs. Jolly was born Aug. 2, 1927, in Boone County, a daughter of the now late Jesse Pleasant and Hazel Fern (Kinkead) Roberts. She attended Sheridan High School in Sheridan.

She was a lifelong resident of Boone County, with the exception of five months, May through September of 1946, when she lived in Westport.

She married Lloyd D. Jolly on May 17, 1946, in Indianapolis. Mr. Jolly passed away on April 7, 2004.

A homemaker nearly all her life, Mrs. Jolly worked outside the home as a mail girl for the office and factory at Diamond Chain for two years. She also worked as an Avon representative for 15 years until 1980.

Mrs. Jolly enjoyed her family, crocheting, and working with plastic canvas crafts. She and her husband were avid campers for 60-plus years and members of FCRVr’s for the past 40 years.

She was a member of Walnut Grove Church in Thorntown, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include three children, Peggy Sue (Melvin) Arnold, Terry L. Jolly and Patty Lou Jolly, all of Lebanon; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Charles Glenn Roberts; a son, Larry W. Jolly; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is planned for 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Alan Moody officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery east of Waugh.
