Peggy L. Jones

Mrs. Peggy L. Jones, 59, of Lebanon, passed away Nov. 19, 2013, at Witham Health Services. Peggy was born Feb. 1, 1954, in Lebanon, a daughter of the now late Chelsie and Betty (Bradley) Rood. She was a graduate of Sheridan High School. Peggy married James M. Jones at Bakers Corner Church on Feb. 6, 1971. Mr. Jones survives. Peggy had many interests including crocheting and writing to friends, and she loved fishing. She was also a great conversationalist. Survivors include her husband, James; children: James Brian Jones of Spencer, Shawn Marley (Heather) Jones of Lebanon and Seth Justin (Angela) Jones also of Lebanon; grandchildren: Brian (Emily) Jones of New Albany, Kristina Jones of Spencer, Marley Jones, Alexis Jones, Sabrina Lasley, John Lasley, Justin Valenti, Caitlin Jones and Alex Jones all of Lebanon; great-grandchild Aubri Jones of New Albany; siblings: Perry Oliver Rood and Chuck (Kim) Rood of Sheridan, Jeffrey (Crystal) Rood of Georgia and Kathy (Doug) Spooner of Arcadia; and several nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and grandchild Jeffrey Jones. Family and friends will gather from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at New Hope Christian Church, and then on Saturday, Nov. 23, for visitation from 10 a.m. until time of services at 12 p.m., with David Bourne officiating. Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon is in charge of arrangements. Peggy will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
