Ivan A. Hiatt


— Ivan A. Hiatt, 99, Frankfort, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at the Wesley Manor Health Care Center in Frankfort, where he had lived since 2010.

He was born June 7, 1914 in Rossville, son of the now late Edwin G. and Minnie Alice (Tripp) Hiatt. He married Ana G. Wainscott on Sept. 6, 1934 and they were married more than 75 years when she died on Oct. 8, 2010.

Mr. Hiatt was retired after owning and operating Hiatt Refrigeration for 40 years.

He attended Frankfort High School and had training in Chicago for refrigeration and air conditioning. He was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Frankfort since 1941. Ivan was instrumental in starting the Combination Club, a lunch club that met daily in various restaurants around Frankfort, for more than 50 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Husband, Allan) Hodgen, rural Frankfort, and Judy Riegel, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two grandsons, Jason Hodgen, rural Frankfort, and Keith Hodgen, rural Thorntown, and great-grandchildren Mitchell, Marshall Allan, Madison, and Courtney Hodgen. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 1951 Wilshire Dr., Frankfort. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment will be in the Clinton County Mausoleum in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
