Mrs. Mary Alice Philbeck, 81, of Frankfort, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at her home in Frankfort.
She was born in Lebanon on May 5, 1932, a daughter to the now late Charles Clinton and Lula (Reagan) French.
She was reared and educated in Lebanon and, for a period of time, she lived in Jefferson, until 1991.
Mary married Otis Johnny Philbeck on Jan. 8, 1949, in Lebanon. Mr. Philbeck passed away on May 24, 1989.
Mrs. Philbeck had worked at the Town & Country Drive-In as a cook. For five years, she worked at Commercial Filters as a line worker.
She attended Wesleyan Church in Frankfort for many years. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother; she enjoyed her family. In her spare time she like to watch television soap operas.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Pat Carnahan of Frankfort, Miss Charlotte Philbeck of Frankfort, Ms. Marty Downs of Lebanon, and Ms. Pam Wagoner of Lebanon; two brothers, Donald Gene French of Lebanon, and Lester French and wife Judith of Texas; one sister, Janet Sue Warren of Lebanon; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary was preceded in death by five brothers, John C. French, Leroy Kenneth French, Joseph Ralph French, James French, and Richard Lee French; three sisters, Myrtle Wires, Bertha Lucille French, and Chrystal Ellen French; a daughter, Leona Keever; a son, John O. Philbeck, II; a granddaughter, Teresa Carnahan; and a great-grandson, Dakota Altic.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 14, Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, at the funeral home in Lebanon.
Interment will follow at Sugar Plain Cemetery in Thorntown.
