Violet Louise Caldwell

Mrs. Violet Louise Caldwell, 85, of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital in Lafayette.

Mrs. Caldwell was born March 17, 1928, in Jolietville, the daughter of the now late Clyde Leroy and Ruth Anna (Fosnight) Kersey. She resided in Jolietville until the age of five, when the family moved to Lebanon. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1946.

She married Donald Lee Caldwell on March 30, 1951, in Lebanon. Mr. Caldwell passed away on Aug. 19, 2009.

For about 15 to 20 years, Mrs. Caldwell worked as an assistant pharmacist for Mitchell & Berry Drug Store. For a period of time, she worked at JCPenney as an inventory manager.

She took great pleasure in her family, and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was fond of sports and a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Jeff Gordon.

Mrs. Caldwell was an auxiliary member of the Lebanon American Legion and a member of the Lebanon V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Survivors include son, Donald L. (Pamela) Caldwell Jr. of High Point, N.C.; daughter, Becky L. Caldwell of Lafayette; three Brothers, Charles Kersey of Indianapolis, Donald Kersey of St. Petersburg, Fla., and William Kersey of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Megan E. Caldwell of High Point, Donnie L. Caldwell III of Charlotte, N.C., and Kelli M. Caldwell  and John A. Caldwell, both of High Point; and her caretaker, Connie Westerhouse of Lafayette.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Violet was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Kersey and Shirley Kersey.

Visitation is 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Myers Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
