Colleen Coffman Craven

Colleen Coffman Craven, 82, Tipton, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Tipton.

Mrs. Craven was born March 29, 1931, in Colfax, to Frank and Nurmal (Shy) Coffman, both now deceased.

She married Donald Craven in Portland on Aug. 12, 1949, and he died Oct. 8, 1999.

She attended Thorntown and Colfax school systems, and she retired form Mallory’s (Emerson) after 39 years.

She was a member of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Her hobbies included gardening, painting and ceramics.

Survivors include daughters, Rita (Chris) Sloan of Sharpsville, and Janet (James) Corbit of Kokomo; sons, Carey Craven of Frankfort, and Dennis (Gayle) Craven of Santa, Clara, Calif., 13 grandchildren and 23 grandchildren.

Calling will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home in Thorntown, 116 W. Plum St., Thorntown.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bud Moody officiating.
