Larry Joe Greathouse

Larry Joe Greathouse, 71, of Indianapolis, formerly of Sheridan, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013.

Larry was born Aug. 31, 1941, in Lebanon, to Claude and Lena (Darnell) Greathouse. He was a 1959 graduate of Sheridan High School.

He spent 42 years working in the trucking industry, retiring in 2001 for health reasons.

Larry attended Pilgrim Lutheran Church of Carmel

He was an avid car racing and sports fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to sports on the radio.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Lesa Greathouse Barker. Also preceding him in death were his two sisters, Phyllis Walker and Geraldine Artman.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Delores Thomley Greathouse; daughter, Cindy (Nathan) Shulte of Bloomfield;  son, Anthony (Lexi) Greathouse of Monticello; stepson, Scott Moe of Maryland; and stepdaughter, Tamara (Kevin) Donley of Fishers. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Kercheval Funeral Home 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Alan Goertemiller officiating. Burial will follow at Crown View Cemetery, Sheridan.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 3650 W. 106th St., Carmel, IN 46032.
