Robert Personett

Mr. Robert Personett, 93, of Crawfordsville, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Lane Nursing Home in Crawfordsville.

Mr. Personett was born Nov. 26, 1919, in Montgomery County, to Frank and Esther (Hutchens) Personett. Both parents are deceased. He graduated from Darlington High School in 1938.

He married Opal J. Anderson on March 13, 1941, in Darlington. She died March 6, 2008.

Mr. Personett was a lifelong farmer, farming all of his life in Franklin Township. He retired in 1985.

His hobbies included woodworking, and he loved to garden.

Mr. Personett was a member of Sugar Plain Friends Church in Thorntown.

Survivors include three sons, Damon (Elaine) Personett and Allen (Dianna) Personett, all of Crawfordsville, and Larry (Teresa) Personett of Lafayette; sister, Martha Conner of Rossville; and six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, 116 W. Plum St., Thorntown. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, at the funeral home, with Larry Truitt officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Plain Cemetery in Thorntown.
