Genevieve Bratton Wahlman passed away peacefully in St. Louis, Mo, Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her son Jimmy in 1957, her daughter Patricia Anspach in 1977 and her husband Archibald Wahlman in 2005. She is survived by her son Michael Wahlman and his wife Susan of St. Louis, Mo., her grandsons, Aaron Wahlman and Nathan Wahlman of Nashville, Tenn., Seth Wahlman and his wife Sarah and their daughter Scout of St. Louis and Ben Wahlman of St. Louis. She also is survived by a son-in-law, Gene Anspach and two grandsons James Anspach, Douglas Anspach and his wife Kerry and four children, Jasmine, Daniel, Abby and Grace in Massachusetts.
Genevieve Bratton was born Sept. 28,1917 in Darlington. She attended business school in Indianapolis and worked there for several years. She married Archibald Wahlman on June 6, 1942.
They lived in Advance, and then on a farm near Jamestown, until they retired to Bonita Springs, Fla. in 1993, where she lived until 2012 when she moved to St. Louis to be near her son Michael.
She was employed for several years as legal secretary for Parr, Richey, Obremskey and Morton Law Offices of Lebanon. She was a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church.
The family will have a memorial and gathering later this summer on the family farm near Jamestown to celebrate her life and that of Archibald as well.
