Kay Wesley Morris

— Kay Wesley Morris, 73, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.

Kay was born Nov. 4, 1939, in Frankfort. He was the son of the late Wesley Alfred and Mary Elizabeth (Huffer) Morris.

Reared and educated in Lebanon, he graduated from Lebanon High School in 1957. He attended Purdue University. He also attended Wayne Township Fire Academy and graduated as a 1st class firefighter. He later received an associate degree in management from Ivy Tech.

Kay married Sue Carolyn Petticord-Shannon on Aug. 9, 1959, in Lebanon. Mrs. Morris survives.

He was a 30-year member of the Center Township Fire Department and a licensed auctioneer for a period of time. His employment included Alton Box Company, Farm Bureau Co-Op, Lau Industries, Pearson Education and Witham Memorial Hospital, all in Lebanon. He also owned and operated AGRICO Fertilizer of Kirklin.   

Kay was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed gardening, motorcycling and traveling. He also was an avid sports fan, specifically following the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears, Purdue Basketball and NASCAR.

He was a former member of the Browns Wonder United Church of Christ in Lebanon, was a member of Boone Masonic Lodge No. 9 F.&A.M., and was a past worthy patron of Lebanon Chapter No. 23 O.E.S.

Survivors include his wife, Sue C. Morris of Lebanon; two children, Jeffrey K. (Jane) Morris of Sheridan and Madonna S. Morris of Noblesville; two granddaughters, Ashley M. Morris and Caitlin R. Morris, both of Sheridan; and two great-grandchildren, Aiden Wesley Morris and Alanah Marie Morris.

Visitation is 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 3, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services with masonic rites will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Andrew Bowen officiating. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
