Judith A. "Judi" Adams

Mrs. Judith Anne Adams, 67, of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.

Judi was born July 8, 1946, in Michigantown, the daughter of the now late Albert Russell and Iris Marie Dale. She was raised and educated in the Sheridan community, and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1964. Following high school, she attended Indiana State University.

On Jan. 12, 1968, she was married to Allan L. Adams in Indianapolis. Mr. Adams survives.

Judi was a stay-at-home mom, and she loved the years spent raising her children. Once her children were raised, she started her own cleaning service and also owned and operated the Black Lantern Antique Shop in Kirklin.

She belonged to A & D Camping Club. She thoroughly enjoyed camping and traveling around to different spots. She had a love of the out-of-doors, and liked to take pictures of scenery and bird watch. For many years, Judi participated in a euchre club where she met many of her longtime friends. Having had various hobbies and interests, her greatest enjoyment in life was her grandchildren; she took great pleasure in attending their activities and events.

Survivors include her husband, Allan L. Adams of Lebanon; three children, Lisa M. (Barry) Haughton and A. Dale (Kristy) Adams, all of Thorntown, and James J. “Jay” (Chrysanthi) Adams of Martinsville; and five grandchildren, Aaron Russell Haughton of Austin, Texas, Blake Andrew Haughton of Thorntown, Erica Jayne Adams of Martinsville, and Avery Mitchell Adams and A. Ray Adams, both of Thorntown.

Judi was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, James A. Dale.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at Myers Chapel of Memories. Entombment will follow services at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County.
