Larry A. Perkins, 56, of Thorntown, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation at Parkwood, Lebanon.
Larry was born Dec. 3, 1955, in Lebanon, the son of the now late Everett P. and Martha M. (Highland) Perkins. A lifelong resident of Boone County, he was a 1974 graduate of Lebanon High School. After school, Larry joined the Indiana National Guard.
For the past 16 years, Larry drove a semi for Transport Services out of Lafayette.
He was a dedicated father and grandfather, and loved spending time with his family. He was a member of GAP Ministries in Thorntown. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed riding his Harley.
Survivors include two sons, Jason E. Perkins and Drew T. Perkins, both of Thorntown; one grandson, Kayden J. Perkins of Thorntown; and four sisters, Rosemary (Paul) Kindig of Akron, Ind., Luella M. Pierce of Lebanon, Helen (Tim) Slicker of Liberty, S.C., and Darlene (James) Williams of Rochester, Wash.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jim Pierce.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 19, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Royce Ford officiating. Interment will follow at the Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County.
