Joan E. Slipher


Joan Elaine Netherton Slipher, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Sept. 5, 2012.

She was born June 9, 1946. She was raised by Amanda Ethel Netherton and Robert Howard Netherton in Lebanon, with her six brothers and three sisters, until she moved to Indianapolis.

She was a member of Assembly of God, where she learned sign language and used that gift to sign to the deaf church members.

Survivors include husband, Dennis Slipher; son, Barry Slipher; and five brothers and three sisters.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Netherton.

A memorial services for family and friends will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Eden United Methodist Church in Greenfield.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hope Hospice, Ft. Myers, Fla.
