Betty Yarber

1943-2013

Mrs. Betty Yarber, 70, of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Witham Hospital, Lebanon.

Mrs. Yarber was born Jan. 20, 1943, in Laurel, Ky., to the now late Luster and Anna Mae (Frederick) Engle.

She married Cleo Yarber on June 5, 1971, in Gallatin, Tenn. Mr. Yarber survives.

Mrs. Yarber worked for Steno Type Supply in Indianapolis for 20 years. She then worked for S&S Food Stores in Lake City, Fla., for several years, retiring in 2004.

She was a volunteer firefighter at Van Bibber Lake in Greencastle.

Her hobbies included cooking and her dog, Rusty. She loved her family very much, and took pride in her grandchildren and children.

In addition to her husband, survivors include Robert Williams of Indianapolis, Debbie (Ron) Bryant of Kokomo, James Williams of Lebanon, Jeffrey Price of Kokomo, Lois Ann Kattay of Indianapolis, Karen Scher of Lebanon, Ronnie (Teresa) Smith of Louisville, Richard Parkinson of Indianapolis, Betty Joanne Yarber of Lebanon and Jerry Price of Pendleton; son, Shane Yarber of Corbin Kentucky; daughter, Lynnetta Boice of Lebanon; sister, Lois (Hurchel) Biddle; brothers, Luster Jr. Engle of Jamestown, Levi (Barb) Engle and Charles (Joyce) Engle, all of Lebanon, Slick (Paula) Engle of Advance and Hurbert (Pat) Engle of Florida.

She was preceded in death by brother, Jerry Wayne Engle.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today, May 9, at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, 223 N. Meridian St., Lebanon. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, at the funeral home, with Pastor Merv McNair officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens, Boone County.
