Marvin G. Birge

Marvin G. Birge, 70, of Lebanon, died Aug. 24, 2013, at Parkwood in Lebanon. Marvin was born July 20, 1943, in Lebanon, the son of the now late Gomer L. and Ruby (Lister) Birge. He attended Lebanon High School and worked as a truck driver for Keebler for over 25 years until his retirement. Marvin was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching NASCAR and was involved in numerous business ventures with his family over the years. Survivors include his children, Carmen (Mark) Sanders of Lebanon, Cheryl (Larry) Buzan of Sheridan and Angi Kerr of Lebanon; siblings, Sandra Morken, Jerry Birge, Brenda English and David Birge; grandchildren, Zach (Bekah) Sanders, Corbin (Kasey) Sanders, Devin Kerr and Audra Kerr; great-grandchildren, Carter, Easton and Jordis Sanders. He was preceded in death by brother, Bradley Birge; grandson, Jared Kerr; sister-in-law, Judy Birge; and nephew, Jerad Birge. Family and friends will gather from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, in the mortuary, with Mark Sanders officiating. Mr. Birge will be laid to rest in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Jared Kerr Memorial Scholarship c/o Huntington Bank.
