Mary Catherine Hendrix

Mrs. Mary Catherine Hendrix, 89, of Jamestown, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon.

Mrs. Hendrix was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Lebanon, daughter of the late Elmer E. and Carrie B. (Lindamood) Dinsmore.

She married Thomas Junior Hendrix on April 28, 1945. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hendrix was a member of the Advance Community Christian Church, the Women’s Fellowship Group at the church, over 50-year member of Modern Maids Home Economic Club, director of Boone County Extension Homemakers Open Show for many years, Eastern Star of Lebanon and was involved with 4-H and Farm Bureau.

She was a homemaker and also worked in the clerk’s office at the Boone County Courthouse.

Mrs. Hendrix enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their sporting events.

Surviving are her son, Gary L. (Karen) Hendrix of Jamestown; daughter, Karen J. (Rick) Turley of Whitestown; and four grandchildren, Thomas and Joseph Hendrix and Matthew and Lori Turley.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles W. Dinsmore and Marvin E. Dinsmore.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, at the Advance Community Christian Church, 305 Main St., Advance. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 18, at the church, with Raymond Duff and Don Thie officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery, Jamestown.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Advance Community Christian Church, P.O. Box 6, Advance, IN 46102 or Boone County Senior Services, 515 Crown Pointe Dr., Lebanon, IN 46052.

Arrangements were entrusted to Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown.
