Mrs. Mary Maxine Maxwell, 88, of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon.
Mrs. Maxwell was born Feb. 14, 1925, in Boone County, to John and Blanche (Pipes) Neese. A lifelong resident of Boone County, she graduated from Zionsville High School in 1944. She married Floyd Maxwell on Feb. 9, 1945, in Boone County. Mr. Maxwell died May 13, 1981.
Mrs. Maxwell worked at Commercial Filters for 16 1/2 years, retiring in 1978. She worked at Sparkle Kleen Laundry for six years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, doing housework, bowling and traveling.
Mrs. Maxwell was a member of the Nazarene Church in Lebanon. Survivors include daughters, Bonnie Twitty, Connie Taylor and Sandra Sutphin, all of Lebanon; sons, John Maxwell of Spencer and Larry Maxwell of Lebanon; and brother, Gene Neese of Lebanon. She had 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Neese, Chester Neese, Charles Neese, John Neese, Loren Neese and Bill Neese; and great-great-grandson Peyton Folden.
Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, 223 N. Meridian St., Lebanon. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Burdette officiating. Burial will be at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boone County Cancer Society, 117 W. Elm St., Lebanon, IN 46052.
