Virginia L. "Ginny" Batts

---- — Mrs. Virginia L. "Ginny" Batts, 69, of Lebanon, died on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Essex Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lebanon. She was born on July 1, 1944, in Lebanon, the daughter of the now late Herman and Martha Jane "Pat" (Edwards) English. A life-long resident of Lebanon, Mrs. Batts graduated from Lebanon High School. Shed married Lanny Lee Batts on Jan. 15, 1993; he survives. For 35 years, Ginny worked as an administrator for nursing homes, primarily for English Nursing Home in Lebanon, a family owned business, and also for Carmen Nursing Home in Crawfordsville. For a period of time, she held the position as bookkeeper for Essex Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Ginny then worked as a secretary for T & L Batts Trucking Company of Lebanon. Ginny was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 1269 and Eagles Club, both of Lebanon. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and playing Texas Hold'em Poker. Survivors include husband Mr. Lanny L. Batts of Lebanon; son Brian Amick of Lebanon; two step-children, Tracy Batts and wife Terri of Lebanon, and Jane Ann Bramblett and husband Jeff of Lebanon; several step-grandchildren; and three nieces. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Richard "Dick" English, and a son, Kevin Scott Amick. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Sreet, Lebanon. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, at the funeral home, with Pastor Merv McNair officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
