---- — Mary June Willey, 89, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2013, in Zionsville. She was the widow of Carroll Dean Willey. Mary was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Crothersville, to Dorothy (Hughes) and Floyd Baringer. She graduated from Shortridge High School, Indianapolis, in 1942. She and Carroll were married Feb. 16, 1947. Mary and Carroll were founders and charter members of Westlane Christian Church, Indianapolis, in 1969. They were also founders and charter members of New Hope Christian Church, Whitestown, in 1972. They also started and operated Rainbow Valley Children’s Christian Home in 1971 from a dream conceived by Mary. Rainbow Valley housed and provided for more than 300 foster children until 2001. Mary has been recognized by the Indiana Foster Care Association for her outstanding service. The Willeys are also memorialized for their work with children in a family park dedicated to them, Willey Park, located in Anson, near the home they owned. During her widowed years, since 2007, Mary has been lovingly cared for by the staff at Zionsville Meadows. Mary was loved deeply and will be missed by her family and many dear friends. May she rest in peace from all her labors. Mary is survived by four children, Kathy (Ken) Jensen, Barry (Barbara), Ed (Jean), and Kyle (Larry) Wiley; 14 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 20 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at New Hope Christian Church, 5780 S. 650 E, Whitestown. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Contributions in honor of Mary may be made to New Hope Christian Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan — Zionsville.
