Mary Ellen Ton, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Sept. 5, 1933, to the now late Hallie and Mary (Fadner) Williams.
Mary Ellen had published two books and authored many magazines articles. She was an avid volunteer at Hoosier Village and had managed their gift shop. She was also a volunteer for the American Baptist Conference Center in Green Lake, Wis.
Mary Ellen is survived by her husband of 63 years, L. Eugene Ton; children, Mitchell Ton, Jill McGregor, Jeff (Carmen) Ton and Joel (Carmen Wood) Ton; grandchildren, Jeremy Ton, Bradley (Holly) Ton, Jeffrey McGregor, Ross (Alicia) McGregor and Kyle McGregor; four great grandchildren; one sister, Hallie Stollenwerk; and brother, Charles M. Williams.
Calling will be 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the parlor of First Baptist Church of Indianapolis, of which she was a member. Memorial services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
