Courtney Rutherford accepts a certificate for a $3,000 front yard makeover from John Lasley Jr. of Strawberry Hill Nursery, Lebanon. Rutherford won the contest Saturday at the Boone County Chamber of Commerce Home and Garden Show. The Yard by Yard contest was sponsored by Strawberry Hill, the chamber and The Lebanon Reporter and Zionsville Times Sentinel. Also pictured are (left) Reporter publisher Greta Sanderson and chamber director Hope Kamalabad. Rutherford was chosen to win the top prize from among three finalists, receiving 44 percent of the votes cast. She defeated finalists Walt Peycha, who garnered 35 percent followed by Mandi Wilson with 21 percent. “I’m excited,” was Rutherford’s response to winning. | |
