Charles Allison, a Lebanon mail carrier, walked his route Saturday with his son, Joshua, delivering mail and picking up non-perishable food items for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday. John Sorrells, of New Ross, also volunteered by driving a rental truck from the post office to The Caring Center. “What’s neat is the variety,” Sorrells said. Sorrells’ wife works at the post office in Lebanon. “You would think everyone would be on the same track, but there’s cake and corn ... beans ... fruit.” Sorrells said he hauled 2,500 pounds of food in his second load to The Caring Center and said he had a total of 4,000 pounds in his first three loads.
