Perry-Worth to host ice cream social
Perry-Worth will host an ice cream social from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 at the school, located at 3900 W. County Road 300 South. Students and families will have a chance to meet their teacher and see the classrooms.
Classroom door will close promptly at 4 p.m., as teachers have another commitment following the event.
Officials to discuss Wal-Mart
A meeting which may include majorities of the Lebanon Board of Works, Lebanon Common Council, Lebanon Plan Commission and Lebanon Board of Zoning Appeals will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the City Council Chambers of the Lebanon Municipal Building, 401 S. Meridian St., Lebanon.
This is a special work session of the Plan Commission for the purpose of discussing and receiving information about the proposed Wal Mart SuperCenter project and related site improvements. No votes will be taken; this is an information-gathering and sharing opportunity which will include public input and questions.
LCSC board to meet
The Board of School Trustees of the Lebanon Community School Corporation will meet in special session at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the school corporation administrative center, 1810 N. Grant St., Lebanon.
The purpose of the meeting is a public work session for the proposed 2008 school corporation budget.
Parks board to meet
The Lebanon Parks and Recreation Board has scheduled its regular meeting for 7 p.m. Monday in the conference room of the Municipal Building, 401 S. Meridian St., Lebanon.
The agenda includes approving minutes and claims, new business and welcoming visitors.
Whitestown to conduct public hearing on ERA
The Whitestown Town Council adopted a resolution at its July 16 meeting, designating an area in the town an economic revitalization area. The resolution also authorized the approval of tax abatement for future projects.
The council will hold a public hearing the receive and hear remonstrances and objections to the resolution at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at the town hall, 3 S. Main St., Whitestown.
A description of the affected area and the resolution can be inspected in the office of the Boone County Assessor and the office of the Whitestown Clerk Treasurer. The area is generally bordered by C.R. 450S on the North, C.R. 575E on the East, and I-65 North on the West in Worth Township.
Written remonstrances to the resolution should be filed with the Town Council on or before Monday, Aug. 13. Interested persons must file a written remonstrance with the town council in order to have a right to appeal the town council’s determination regarding designating the affected area an economic revitalization area.
