1 man dead, 1 injured in Indianapolis shootings

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis police say one man has died and a second man has been hospitalized in serious condition after shootings on the city's east side.

Officers responding to the scene Monday afternoon found the two men. One was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other, who was shot in his chest, was transported to a hospital. Their names and ages were not immediately released.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Officer Chris Wilburn says there were no immediate suspects in the shootings.

Wilburn told The Indianapolis Star that officers had been called to the same location about two hours earlier Monday afternoon on reports of shots fired. He says those officers found shell casings but no victims.
