Police make arrest in October Quail Run shooting

Jaice E. Dusang

Zionsville Police Department officers, with assistance from IMPD, have made an arrest in the Oct. 29 robbery and shooting in Zionsville's Quail Run apartment complex.

Thursday, police arrested 20-year-old Jaice E. Dusang 12:03 p.m. near his Indianapolis home. He was charged with seven felonies and one misdemeanor.

Zionsville Police officers were called to an apartment complex late Oct. 29, after 33-year-old Isaac Bermudez of Zionsville suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Bermudez was taken to a hospital in good condition, as law enforcement officials from numerous agencies searched for a suspect throughout that night. The suspect remained at large until his arrest, just after noon Thursday.

Dusang has been charged with robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, armed robbery, aggravated battery, two counts of criminal confinement, battery resulting in serious bodily injury, and criminal recklessness, all felonies. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of carrying and handgun without a license.

Police declined to comment on what lead them to Dusang in Indianapolis, citing the ongoing investigation.

Dusang's initial hearing was Friday, Dec. 7, in Boone County Circuit Court. A motion for higher-than-standard bond was granted and bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety. A pretrial conference has been set for January, and a jury trial has been set for March.
