Michelle Nazarov won the regional title in the long jump on Tuesday.

WEST LAFAYETTE — The Zionsville girls track and field team is sending seven events to the State Finals next weekend at IU.

The Lady Eagles claimed four regional titles, and placed fourth overall at the West Lafayette Regional on Tuesday evening.

Sophie Yovanovich won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.33 (12.19 in prelims). She also qualified for state in the long jump, placing fourth in a state standard 18-feet-01.75-inches.

Defending state champion Michelle Nazarov won the long jump with a leap of 18-feet-9.25-inches.

Also winning an individual regional title was Katelyn Makinde, who won the shot put in a throw of 41-feet-7-inches.

The Zionsville 4x100 relay team of Yovanovich, Omema Anyanwu, Lily Robinson and Michelle Nazarov won in a time of a 47.68.

The Eagles also qualified for the 4x400 relay, where the team of Delaney Greeson, Nazarov, Anyanwu and Robinson placed second in a time of 3:55.76.

Kennedy Merrell placed second in the pole vault, clearing 11-feet-6-inches to advance to state.

The Zionsville 4x800 team of Kiersten Hill, Mackinsey Heagy, Greeson and Audrey Magnusen placed sixth in 9:50.50.

Mary Raikos placed 10th in the 300-meter hurdles in 48.91 and Ava Esteves was 10th in the pole vault, clearing 10-feet.

Lily Campion placed 12th in the 400 in 1:02.11, Katherine Bowen was 13th in the 1,600 in 5:30.74, Elizabeth Raborn was 14th in the 200 in 27.02, Kennedy Haffner was 14th in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.11 and Heagy was 15th in the 800 in 2:31.47.

Lebanon’s 4x800 team of Nadia Jones, Jaleigha Howard, Kloe Coyle and Abbi Coyle had a new PR of 10:05.78 to place eighth.

Western Boone’s Kennedy Kiger placed eighth in the shot put with a throw of 34-feet-6-inches, and Emmy Roys was 11th in the discus with a throw of 105-feet-01-inches.

The State Finals will take place on Friday, June 3 at IU. Field events are set to begin at 3 p.m., with running events starting at 4:15.
