A couple of local athletes earned All-American status at their respective NCAA winter championships.
First, Western Boone grad and McKendree diver Regan Gubera earned All-American status at the NCAA Championships.
In 1-meter diving, Gubera placed eighth overall to earn All-American status. She scored 398.65 overall for her 11 dives.
Later in the meet, Gubera finished fourth in 3-meter diving, posting the highest individual placing in McKendree women’s swimming and diving history,
Gubera tallied a school-record score of 444.75 for six dives on the 3-meter board and repeats as an All-American, bettering her finish from last season at fifth place.
Zionsville grad and Western Kentucky senior Katie Isenbarger placed 12th in the high jump at the NCAA Championships.
Isenbarger cleared 1.77m to earn her 12th place standing. It was the second-consecutive season Isenbarger competed in the NCAAs. With her qualification for the championships, Isenbarger also cemented All-American status for the second-straight year.
